Humidifiers require general maintenance from time to time to retain their effectiveness and prolong their life span. Follow the cleaning instructions when the Homech humidifier will not be used for at least one week, or at the end of the season. Remove any accessories used with the humidifier and allow the unit and accessories to dry completely before storing.

Homech Humidifier Problems and Solutions

What tools will you need to perform Homech humidifier repair? You don’t need too many tools, with just screwdrivers and wrenches, you have everything you need to start the troubleshooting process!

LED indicator is off

Possible Causes

• Unit not plugged in.
• No power from the power outlet.
• Did not turn on the unit.

Solutions

• Ensure the unit is properly plugged in.
• Try another power outlet.
• Check the Control Knob is turned to the ON position.

LED indicator stays red

Possible Causes

• No water in the water reservoir.
• Water oater stuck.

Solutions

• Ensure the spring is secured properly to the tank bottom allowing water to pass through to the base.
• Adjust the water oater to a horizontal position and make sure it can rise up with water.

The LED indicator is white, but no mist or little mist is produced

Possible Causes

• Not enough water inside the tank.
• Mist level is set too low.
• Mineral buildup on the atomize.
• The base might be overlled.

Solutions

• Refill and reinstall the water tank.
• Adjust to maximum mist.
• Feel if any air comes out from the nozzle. If yes, then clean the water scale on the atomizer as instructed.
• Remove the tank, empty the base and place the filled tank on the empty base.

Tank leakage

Possible Causes

• The tank may be damaged.
• The tank cap is not tightened securely.
• Spring stuck.
• The sealing ring was not installed on the tank cap.

Solutions

• Check for possible cracks in the tank; replace if necessary.
• Tighten the tank cap.
• Ensure the spring is properly secured to the tank bottom allowing water to pass through to the base.
• Install the sealing ring on the tank cap.

Mist height is low, damping surrounding desk or floor – condensation forms around humidier or on windows and walls

Possible Causes

• Mist level is set too high for the room size.
• The Air inlet is blocked.
• Low indoor temperature leads to liquefaction.

Solutions

• Check if the room is too humid and adjust to lower mist. 40%-60% works best.
• Open the door and windows, or change to a larger room.
• Humidier should be placed on a hard surface, 2 feet above the floor, 12 inches away from the wall. Point nozzle away from wall or window.
• Raise the room temperature to 25°C / 77°F.

Poor Humidication

Possible Causes

• Mist level is set too low for the room size.
• The Air inlet is blocked.
• Low indoor temperature leads to liquefaction.

Solutions

• Adjust to maximum mist.
• Close door or windows to reduce air ventilation or change to a smaller room.
• Humidier should be placed on a hard surface, 2 feet above the floor, 12 inches away from the wall. Point nozzle away from wall or window.
• Raise the room temperature to 25°C / 77°F.

White dust appears, or the black coating on the base flakes off

Possible Causes

• Tap water may contain too many minerals.

Solutions

• Replace with filtered or distilled water.

Homech Humidier is getting too hot

Possible Causes

• The unit works for too long.

Solutions

• Power off and place in a well-ventilated place for 10 minutes.

Strange Odor from Homech Humidifier

Solution: Clean the unit.

Strange water noise

Water is going down to the water reservoir. This is normal while it is working.
